Benefits of Orange Essential Oil

Sweet orange oil is extracted through cold expression from the rind of the fruit of Citrus Sinensis, the sweet orange tree. The therapeutic value of the orange was first recognized in Ancient China, where the dried peel for centuries has been used as part of traditional Chinese medicine. It is the rind of the fruit that has the greatest medicinal value being used primarily to stimulate digestion and relieve spasm. In the 18th century, Europe began using oranges to alleviate nervous disorders, heart problems, colic, asthma, and melancholy.

From an energetic perspective, sweet orange oil has the ability to unblock and circulate stagnant Qi-energy mainly when it accumulates in the Liver, Stomach and Intestines. Sweet orange oil is one of the best essential oils for the digestive system. It helps with abdominal distention and pain, poor appetite, indigestion, flatulence, nausea and vomiting.
